You may request a written appeal within 45 days from when you received your citation if you can show proof of valid fare at the time of citation. Documents in support of your appeal may be submitted online.

Appeals must be requested within 45 days of when your citation was issued. TriMet will review your request and will return one of the following decisions:
- The citation will be dismissed. No further action will be required on your part. You will receive a notification from TriMet confirming the dismissal of your citation
— or —
- The citation will be determined to be valid and the citation will need to be resolved. You will still have time to resolve your citation with TriMet within 90 days of issuance of the citation by paying a fine, performing community service, or enrolling in the low-income or honored citizen programs.
