If you are eligible — based on age / disability or income level — and enroll in TriMet’s reduced fare program as a new enrollee and load $10 on your Hop card within 90 days from when you received your citation, TriMet will resolve your citation.
Getting your citation resolved by enrolling in a reduced fare program is a three-step process. You must not already be enrolled in either program and you must complete all three steps within 90 days of the citation being issued for your citation to be resolved:
1) Enroll in a Reduced Fare Program
Low-Income
To be eligible for TriMet’s reduced fare for low-income riders, you need to be 18 to 64 years old, an Oregon resident, making less than double the federal poverty level and not already using Honored Citizen fares.
— or —
Honored Citizen
To be eligible for TriMet’s Honored Citizen fare, you must be 65+ years old OR on Medicare OR have a verifiable mental or physical disability.
2) Load $10 on Your Honored Citizen Hop card
If your application for either program is approved, you’ll receive a personalized Honored Citizen Hop card. You must load at least $10 on this card, which you can do at myhopcard.com, on the Hop app, by calling 1-844-MYHOPCARD (694-6722), or at participating stores in the Hop retail network.
3) Inform TriMet you’ve completed Steps 1 and 2
You must inform TriMet that you’ve successfully enrolled in a reduced fare program and loaded $10 on your Honored Citizen Hop card by filling out the form below. If you do not complete this step within 90 days, your citation will not be considered resolved:
